About Wahlstrom/Bernier Family Tree
Hi there,

Hope you enjoy viewing the Wahlstrom/Karlsson family tree. Not much info on Anna M. Karlsson but I'm sure there will be more to insert later.

In the north of Sweden, also known as Lapland, Gafsele (south of Asele) was settled in 1674 by Nils and Brita Andersson who were a Finnish couple running from the Russian war. Asele Municipality was already inhabited by the native Sami people, a nomadic tribe. The parish Fredrika was established and named in honour of Queen Frederika Dorothea Wilhelmina of Sweden (March 12, 1781 - Sept. 25, 1826). She was the younger sister of Tsar Alexander I of Russia. Hers is a very interesting story and if you Google her name you'll be able to find out more.

Names of places have changed and, I'm sure, some settlements no longer exist after all this time. However, on doing some research, Asele is a Municipality & Seat, Lapland is a Province, Fredrika is a Parish, Nordmaling is a Parish and, Vasterbotten is a County.

On the Bernier/Gagnon side, more info will be coming after some research is done. If you have anything that would be interesting, please email me at cdaskis@shaw.ca

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
